this is a film that will take your breath away from the beginning till the end. James cameron brings out a great story about life, death and humanity. when a nuclear submarine mysteriously crashes into deep waters, a team of oil diggers lead by Ed Harris are sent to search for survivors. but what they will find down there will change the meaning of life forever, something that has the power to give life or to destroy it. With it's spectacular shots, extremely great surroundings and background, this film mystify the legend of "20 000 feet underwater". the suspense is not missing at all as the thrilling action goes on and you are never bored despite it's 171min.Ed Harris is good but mastrantonio is even better supported by a good cast, michael Biehn...in other words, the Abyss is a film that will pull you down to the abyss of your couch  with  it's emotion, it's underwater action adventure and finally, it's great message of life.

the interactive menu of this dvd is maybe the best ever created with it's exceptional features and exceptional background.2 edition in one cd with an  28min of additional footage for the special edition plus another cd with a great 60 min documentary on "under pressure: making the abyss". You will also found numerous pseudopodia sequences that amazingly shows special effects, scene creation, script additions and many others features. fox have done a great job as this 2 disc will blow you away.
